Hello,
Up for sale is a used Casio G-Shock GW-5000U-1JF with the yellow strap and bezel from the Casio G-Shock DW-5600P-9.
The watch started out as a used GW-5000U that I got from a Japanese seller. It was bought for the purpose of the yellow bezel/band mod.
I wanted to create a modern version of the early 1990's yellow bezel and band DW-5600C model. To further that 1990's yellow bezel/band DW-5600C model look, I replaced the yellow strap keeper with a new black one from a GW-5000U (you can actually get just the strap keeper for the GW-5000U from PacParts) and also added some bull bars to the watch
The watch is in good shape and works well. There is some wear and tear on the watch. For some reason, there are some scuffs and dings on the case back. These were on the watch when I got it. I have seen scratches and dings like these on other GW-5000/GW-5000U watches over the years and can not figure how a person can scratch the case back as if it is dropped the watchband takes the brunt of the wear and tear.
There is no box or book as I wanted a used watch without boxes and books because it was getting "modded"
The watch does come with the original black strap and black bezel. The original black strap and bezel do have a bunch of wear and tear on them but still look to be usable for a little bit longer if you wish to switch back to the original black bezel/strap.
The watch works well and seems to sync easier with Ft. Collins then my other GW-5000U
This is a great chance to get a used GW-5000/GW-5000U that is already in the USA for a good price.
The watch is used with wear and tear on it. It would be great as an everyday wearer or as a outdoor beater. If you are looking for a cheap GW-5000U with wear then this is your watch. If you are looking for everything to be new and perfect then you should probably move on and get a new one.
