Hello Watchexchange, Up for sale is this Seiko Grand Quartz (Ref: 4843-8110) from December 1977. The Grand Quartz was the continuation of the Grand Seiko line, but then in quartz. The Grand Seiko Guy did a very good piece on them (https://thegrandseikoguy.substack.com/p/a-history-of-grand-seiko-1975-to-1988) These GQ were already thermocompensated, which is why they were very accurate (+/- 5 seconds per month) . Cosmetically, this GQ is in very good condition. The case is made of cap gold, which means it has not faded over time, nor will it. Gold capping is when a cap is made out of gold to be fitted over a stainless steel case. Capping is thicker than plating and therefore more durable. The matte gold dial is also in very good condition. This GQ also still keeps time well: approx 3 seconds slow per 24 hours, measured by laying flat for 24 hours.
