I bet you’ve never come across something this fun here for a minute! :) Up for grabs is a super cool piece: a Seiko Alba, Studio Ghibli My Nieghbor Totoro 10th Anniversary Watch. In 1998, it was released as a Limited Edition (0673/1998) timepiece. It has a Seiko Automatic Y675 Automatic Movement w/ Date. It has Breguet hands, and a date window that turns into a famous soot ball character from the movie on the 10th of the month. What’s more, there’s a gorgeous exhibition case back so you can marvel at the movement from time to time, which is a beauty. It’s complete with original wood box, a Totoro pin, the instructions, a note from Hayao Miyazaki, and the guarantee. I bought this watch quite a few years ago on a dream trip to Japan right after college. I’m selling it as I’m lucky enough to go back to Japan for work this year, and I wanted to use the cash to purchase a new watch while there. That being said, I’m also open to trades. This watch has been really well taken care of and I’m pricing it as such. It was serviced here in New York City at Grand Central Watch, who gave it a full service and cleaning after what was essentially years of non-use. The Perspex crystal is gently scratched, but would be extremely cheap to replace and tbh - even cooler with an aftermarket sapphire. It now runs much better than the noted accuracy of this movement. When I purchased it, it had an aged original strap that I replaced with a gorgeous grey genuine lizard band. The purchase comes with both straps. It’s hard to find a verifiable working model of this piece - there are a bunch of duds lying around on the auction sites.
