Hi everyone, This is a rare King Seiko Special Vanac Hi-Beat watch in absolutely gorgeous condition. It has a stunning Vibrant Brown Moccasin Brushed Satin finished sunburst dial with super solid futuristic case. Applied faceted indexes. The "Special" stamped on the dial represents the higher-grade movement inside it compared to the other king seikos. Comes with Seiko Japan signed bracelet. Pretty impressive for a 50-year-old watch. Movement has been serviced. Accuracy checked with timegrapher. Running flawlessly. Day- Date complication. This is a beast under sunlight, pictures don't do justice to this beauty. It's pretty rare to see a piece like this come on. They were designed to have premium build quality but within regions of Japan, this is an all JDM piece. Handling this, I can definitely guarantee this is far above any modern watches in the same price zone. It has a superior Hi-beat movement. Comes with English and Japanese day wheel. The Kanji(Japanese) date highly complements the dial. The polish is insane with sharp brushed lines and mirror finishes. Textured 3d Mirror finished electric hand complements the dial. Seiko has always kept these unique colored dials limited and they fetch a lot higher than other color variants of same model. This is a collector's piece. Seiko played more with the dials on King Seiko Vanac line up, these are extremely limited and the textures on dial are unlike any. I tried my best to capture the dial on picture and video on my phone but it should be appreciated in person for full measure. The King Seiko Vanac was only produced between 1972 and 1974, in a number of variations,sporting colorful dials, facetted crystals and angular cases. Movement information: Caliber 5256A is an Hi-beat automatic chronometer movement with day and date produced by Daini Seikosha for use in Seiko Vanac and King Seiko watches from 1973 through 1976. It is part of the short-lived Daini Seikosha 52 stream that powered Vanac, Special, and Chronometer watches in the classic period and was the foundation for the updated Seiko 4S series that powered most high-end mechanical watches from Seiko in the 1990s. It operates at 8 Hz (28,800 A/h). the 52KS is an indirect center seconds mechanism still seen today in more expensive movements. During the 1960s and 1970s, the KS Vanac JDM was second only to the Grand Seiko as the top of the line Seiko. The 5256 Vanac Special was close to be its equal.
