**Update: Sale pending** In my makes-no-sense watch idiot quest to experience as many watches as I can, my beloved Astron must depart to make way for a lesser-but-different substitute. I purchased this from an AD in April of this year, and it comes as a full kit with signed warranty card. For a lucky person who isn't inflicted with this silly condition, this watch may be one of the best Go Anywhere (really, anywhere in the world), Do Anything options ever. If Grand Seiko is the "if you know, you know" and "I wear it to impress myself" flagship, the Astron deserves to be right there with it. **Photos, videos, and timestamp:** [https://imgur.com/a/x5FNbLi](https://imgur.com/a/x5FNbLi) **Wrist shot on 6.3" wrist**: [https://imgur.com/a/425s9Bg](https://imgur.com/a/425s9Bg) **Specs/details on Seiko's website:** [https://seikoluxe.com/products/ssh119/](https://seikoluxe.com/products/ssh119/) **What makes this watch practical?** * It's solar, so it keeps charged and running without intervention * It pulls atomic time from satellites every day, so it's always perfectly set * It's a perpetual calendar, so you never have to think about advancing the date * It's dual-time, so you can easily track a second timezone quickly and easily * It's thin and light, so your wrist will enjoy it * There is an on-the-fly adjustable buckle, so wrist swelling isn't an issue * The crystal is sapphire, the bezel is ceramic, and the titanium has a super hard coating, so nothing scratches easily * The lume on the hands and hour markers lasts all night, so it's always legible * The water resistance is 100M, so you can feel safe wearing it in all conditions **What makes this watch special?** * The dial is spectacular. None of the GS's I've owned or ogled at the boutique are nearly this mesmerizing. It's finished at GS level but does things in all lighting conditions I've never seen before or since. * At any time, you can request that the watch set itself via GPS. You can do a quick setting which connects to the nearest satellite to sync the time and date to the second. You can also do a full setting which connects to 3+ satellites to location your position on the globe and update to the correct time zone and DST status * You can change time zones yourself in the most satisfying way. Pull the crown to the first position to see the seconds hand point to the main time's current zone on the bezel. Click the crown forward and backwards to select a new zone, and watch the hands update on the fly. Do the same in the second crown position to adjust the second time zone (bottom sub dial). * You can quickly swap the time zones between the main and secondary zones. Hold both pushers for a couple seconds, and the hands are off to the races. * The seconds hand hits the markers dead on every single time. After getting used to this, I can find a little slop in my GS's 9F which I didn't notice before. I'm not looking for trades, and **I'm asking $1600**, including insured shipping within the US, via PayPal. Thanks!
