“Selling this Grand Seiko SBGV231, a GS boutique exclusive which features a titanium case and bracelet and the 9F82 movement. This watch comes with inner and outer boxes, warranty paper, instructions, and a [7.25 inch bracelet, with an extra link]. It's in great condition overall, with fairly gentle signs of wear. The case measures 40mm wide without crown, with 20mm lugs and a 46.8mm lug to lug measurement. The 9F82 movement makes this quite thin at 10mm. The movement is running perfectly, with all functions operational including the awesome split second date change. Seconds hand hits right on the markers when ticking. Asking $1850 obo USD shipped in the US or Canada, Zelle, or Venmo. Can ship international at your cost. ~ GS quartz is unlike any other, is hand assembled, the quartz is grown and cut by GS themselves. The movement is built to be serviced, looks absolutely beautiful and has a high torque motor to allow it to move the thick GS hands.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
