1977 Seiko 6309-7049 “Turtle” Case: Watch was clearly worn, there are a number of scratches and scrapes on the case from normal wear. Doesn’t appear to have ever been polished. Watch could use a movement service/adjustment and new gaskets. Bezel: Almost completely faded to the bare aluminum insert. The numbers from the bezel can faintly be seen in certain lighting. Lume pip has lost its lume, but the pop was painted white to match the bezel/hands/indices. Missing click ball, but still has the spring, so the bezel at the moment is a friction bezel (non-clicking). I do have a replacement clickball on the way and should receive it the next few days. Dial: Dial is flawless with no imperfections and the lume has faded to extremely light cream. The “WATER RESIST” text that would have originally been red has faded to a monochromatic grey, matching the rest of the watch. Hands: Good condition overall, the hour and seconds hand are in great condition. The minutes hand has a small bits of black/grey around some parts of the edges, likely still reversible by a skilled watchmaker. Please see the photos to assess condition. Crystal: New domed crystal. Unsure if it is a acrylic/hardlex or if it is sapphire. No visible scratches on crystal. Movement: Runs, but could use a service. Movement looks clean, but there are no watchmaker marks in the caseback leading me to believe this has never been serviced. Numbers on the timegrapher align with never being serviced. Running at +49 seconds a day with an amplitude of 145. I expect this just needs a service/adjustment. Strap: New 22mm black leather strap. Asking $275 Shipped to CONTUS Please let me know if you have any questions.
