After 4 years of continual improvements and 6 previous generations, we're extremely excited to announce the latest Geckota K-01 is now available on the site for pre-order. This limited run piece is the result of investing 8 months to perfect every aspect of the design and construction, resulting in the most refined K-01 to date which brings a whole new level of build quality. As with all pilots watches, legibility is important to the Geckota K-01. To ensure maximum readability we have used large dials with crisp printed contrasting indices topped off with Swiss SuperLuminova to ensure that accurate time can be read whatever the situation. A benefit of the K-01's impressive case design and construction is how the hand stem has been brought right down, as well as the crystal resulting in the legibility of the timepiece being heightened even more so. We wanted the K-01 to be a fantastic option for people in the market for an everyday classic looking timepiece. To accomplish this, we decided a 40mm case diameter would be the most versatile for a range of wrist sizes and also bridges the gap between being usable day to day yet also large enough to command some presence. For a subtle yet stylish look, we have used a brushed finish on the majority of the case, which is nicely contrasted by the polished bevel. For a watch to be worn regularly and comfortably, we understand that it's not just the case width that matters but also the overall thickness of the piece. This is something we have spent a huge amount of time on with this new version of the K-01 to ensure the watch is a usable size. Now coming in at just under 12mm, the new K-01 Pilots now sits on and hugs the wrist perfectly making for an incredibly enjoyable experience. A Swiss first for Geckota With an immense amount of time and effort being poured into the K-01's design, the team recognised the watch deserved a renowned, high-quality reliable movement. For this, we knew it was only right to go Swiss. Our first step in the Swiss watchmaking comes in the form of the ETA 2824-2. This movement's reputation alone is so strong it can easily rival complete watches out there in a range of different price points (many of the higher priced pieces using the same movement). The buttery smooth inner workings of the ETA 2824-2 results in a consistent sweep of the K-01's seconds hands at 28,800 bph.
