For sale is a rare Seiko 6138-3009 chronograph. This was Spencer’s personal watch. He serviced it in February, 2022 and sold it. The 6138-3009 is the rarest sub variant of the Jumbos, believed to only have been made for 9 months for the North America market. The 3009 case has a wider bevel and lower crystal compred to the 3002 case. This watch is in beautiful pristine condition for its age. The case is unpolished and all the case lines and original finishing is nice and crisp. You can still see some of the other caseback sticker on the back of the watch. Very hard to find one that is in this condition. The watch will come with the OEM bracelet with some extra links. I have included the original listing on the KVW website. The watch was sold for $2200 on the Klein Vintage Watch website. Dimensions: 42mm case, 14mm thick, 46mm l2l, 19mm lug width Movement: 6138 fully integrated automatic column wheel vertical clutch chronograph with a full balance bridge. Arbor port jeweled. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
