Today I am offering something a little different from my collection for sale - a Longines.



For those that know about chronographs, this is considered to be one of the best chronographs ever made - along with it's flyback feature. One of only 3 chronographs to have every joined my collection it is truly very special, and I hope the pictures below do it justice! I loved this one not just for it's beauty and prestige, but because the whole package, including box and papers, and buckle felt almost like the buying experience for this watch 60 years ago.


Dial: For an 60 year old watch the dial is in remarkable shape, it is original first and foremost, which is increasingly rare in these models and in very very good condition. The dial has a creamy irridescent tone, which is a delight to behold on a summer's day. That combined, with the glint of reflections from the gold baton hands, and the red and blue scales around the circumference of the dial make for an incredibly attractive and versatile piece, that can be worn for a lunch in the afternoon sun, or an evening affair. Dressed up or down.



Case: The 18K gold case is in nice shape and measures 36mm without crown. It appears to be have seen some polishing over it's lifetime, as is often the case with gold watches. Needless to say it is not perfect, but overall the condition is commensurate to the age of the watch and the many years of enjoyment I am sure it has shared with its owners. The crown appears to be original. A great size watch, with strong presence given it's more larger size than many vintage watches.


Movement: The movement is a 30CH and is running very well. I have not had it serviced during my ownership and offer no guarantees on accuracy. It is up to the buyers discretion if they wish to service it upon receipt of the watch. I have not experienced anything that concerns me, but as with all second hand watches, I recommend that they are serviced for your peace of mind.

Strap: The straps pictured are for demonstration only, however I am happy to include a strap from my collection subject to what I have spare and available. A time correct Longines buckle will also be included.



Box / Papers: As pictured, this includes box and papers. It also includes the Longines extract from the archives which is a nice addition to add to the provenance.
