Rolex “Coke” GMT Master ref. 16700 circa 1990 Coined the “Coke” for pilots used the black and red insert for a 12 and 24 hour distinction, this GMT is from 1990 with an E-serial on case and tritium dial. The GMT Master as opposed to the “Master II” is a thinner watch and the automatic 3175 calibee movement features an independent quickset date. So why the 16700? It is considered the “last gmt” and the end of an era born in 1988 and only lasting 5 years.  It also houses the 3175 caliber automatic movement which enables seconds hacking and independent date change.
