History of leica : 💫 Apparently Leica made watches before cameras, starting in 1863. Leica is a German camera manufacturer that has quite a long history. The Leica portfolio of companies consists of leica Microsystems , leica Camera, Leica Geosystems, Leica watches, and Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Cinema Optics. From a friend: ⚓ I used to work for Leica in their cinema optics division. These watches are made in house at their Wetzlar campus. We got to tour their assembly room which was right across from our cinema lens manufacturing building on the same campus. Pretty amazing stuff.
