Omega Constellation Manhattan cal 1111 Reference: 168.0068 circa 1980s The Constellation first launched in 1952 and dons an observatory on the caseback. In the early variations, they were upper tier offerings along with Seamasters and the 1970s saw the C-shape Genta evolutions. In 1982 after the quartz crisis, the Manhattan relaunched the modern Constellation aesthetic introducing the now-iconic "claws" (griffes) on the bezel and an integrated metal bracelet. The claws were initially a technical solution to ensure water resistance by pressing the crystal onto the case but became a signature design element.
