The last one that has to go, and this one is special... But as I have two and the other one does come full set, this one is the one that has to go.

For sale is an extremely rare late 1980s Omega Speedmaster 345.0808 "First Execution" that features the beautiful copper cal 863! This is the very first series with display case back. It is part of a limited series of only 1000 pieces (and is individually numbered on the case back and - unique for a Speedmaster - also between the lugs. Movement numbers for this reference must be between 48169000 and 48169999, which this one of course is.

Please find an assessment of the watch below. I have attempted to be as brutally honest as can be. Also note that I am certainly not the first owner of this watch. Hence I cannot guarantee originality of parts, although after having handled dozens of 80s and 90s Speedmasters, I like to think I know what I am looking at... 😉

Dial: The original dial with all lume plots perfectly in tact. The lume has aged to a very attractive, eggshell shade and has lost most of its luminous qualities as one would expect of a ±40 yrs old piece. Dial body colour is very slightly anthracite. The printing is perfectly okay too. A highlight of this watch.

Hands: Not original. I have thought of putting a tritium hand set back into this piece, but have decided against it as it is recently serviced. Opening it won't do it any good. It is however the one 'flaw' this watch has.

Case: Nice fat case with sharp edges. It looks unmolested but certainly shows some light signs of wear. Some hairline scratches but overall in very good condition. Caseback is in perfect order. A previous owner must have decided to polish out the LE number, which admittedly looks very crude, which is consequently only visible under great magnification. It does match the 060X number between the lugs, where the number is very clearly readable. (See pictures below)

Bezel: Original bezel (B2) in very good condition. A very tiny dent at the top is all that holds this back from being perfect..

Movement and Serial: A trusty 861 manual wound movement in its prettier guise with copper plating and more decoration. A true charm to look at. The serial sits correctly in the 48169XXX range. Even though there is no extract, I am pretty sure it has been produced in the period of 1987 or 1988. The movement has been serviced in September 2024 and a proof of service is coming with the watch.

Needless to say, it runs and winds smoothly with all functions working properly.

Bracelet: This is one of the reasons I bought this piece in the first place: a rare 1447 / 805 in very good condition. It currently fits a 16,5cm to almost 18 cm wrist circumference as it is. The bracelet has virtually no stretch. I have had to replace the quick release springbar which had disintegrated inside the bracelet. Better safe than sorry.

Package: Watch only. Well, plus the service invoice, that is.

Shipped worldwide at buyers expense, although I would strongly prefer a F2F deal in the Netherlands given the value of this piece and the added benefit of meeting a fellow OF-member in person.

No returns, please ask questions and extra pictures in advance. I am not making a habit out of selling, but I do have quite some - exclusively positive - references as a seller and buyer on this forum and could share more.

I am pricing this one competitively as the hand set and polished out LE number detract a little from the collectability. Which doesn't reduce any of the joy wearing these, for sure.
