These were no ordinary dress watches, they were regulated to an impressive +/- 3 seconds per day, surpassing typical chronometer standards of the era. The watch features a 36.5mm stainless steel case with sharp lines and proportions that perfectly reflect Seiko’s Grammar of Design philosophy. On the wrist, it feels slim and refined, with polished surfaces that catch the light beautifully. The silver dial is clean and balanced, marked with the subtle “Special” text, thin baton indices, and a discreet date window. A signed GS crown and the gold medallion caseback round out the details collectors look for. Powering this piece is the Caliber 6155, a hi-beat automatic running at 36,000 bph, designed specifically for this reference and regulated for top-tier precision. Unlike other 61-series movements, this one is date-only, making it one of the most unique vintage Grand Seiko configurations ever produced. The watch is in good original condition with unpolished case and caseback showing fair amount of scratches fitting for its age. The crystal is flawless, with clean dial.
