This watch has character, soul, and story. Originally owned by a friend of mine, this watch flew off his wrist and onto the pavement while he was driving his Pontiac GTO in the early 1980s. It got tossed into a garage drawer and sat there, untouched, for decades. I became its second owner and slowly brought it back to life. The case was professionally restored with minimal affect to its look. The dial and hands were left untouched. The creamy tritium plots have matured into a rich pumpkin hue, and the feet-first white text dial (SWISS – T < 25) adds a unique vintage charm. The movement is a genuine Rolex 1570 with date, running strong. If you want it regulated or timed further, that’s your call — it works beautifully for me. The dial is a vintage white matte with tritium, it’s creamy, and it wears like magic under the TrueDome crystal that it’s currently on. I also have its cyclops crystal but nothing beats TrueDome for this watch.
