Selling my gorgeous Seiko SLA043 (SBDX039) - a limited edition reinterpretation (note a slightly modernized case size) of the legendary Seiko 1st Diver 62MAS. Looks like this was dated November 2021 but sorta tough to say as the writing is tiny. Either way, only a few years old as that’s when this watch was released. The SLA043 uses the 8L35 (reportedly an unregulated version of Grand Seiko movement) housed inside a 904L (same as Rolex Steel) Ever Brilliant steel case. Excellent bezel action and alignment is perfect to my eye. Domed sapphire crystal has an exaggerated dome at the outer edge, giving the watch the appearance of acrylic distortion. Crazy bright lume, gorgeous blue dial, brushed silver date wheel. These are essentially a sporty Grand Seiko. $4500 was the retail price. Just over 39mm diameter, 19mm lug. This watch just came back from Seiko, where it received a brand new case, bezel, crystal, crown, and all gasket due to a crown issue. Movement, dial, hands, and caseback (to preserve serial number) are original. So, case, bezel, insert, gaskets etc are absolutely mint because they’re brand new, I’ve had it on wrist for 30 minutes around the house, that’s it. Caseback is original and has some micro scratches from natos etc. Timekeeping before sending to Seiko was within +-5seconds/day. Screw down crown operation isn’t as buttery smooth as some Swiss watches I’ve owned. I guess and have read this is normal for Seiko. Also brand new and I’m will likely smooth out over time. I have full kit. Outer white sleeve, inner full box. Both the blue and black OEM rubber straps (blue was worn one time). Original sales card (purchased in Japan). $2700. Prefer to ship CONUS only.
