Modello Uno

The Unimatic Modello Uno takes the familiar dive-watch dial and edits it hard: bold luminous markers, broad hands, and very little text competing for your attention. Its strongest versions make that restraint feel purposeful rather than empty, with a largely unmarked bezel that gives the watch a distinctly different character from the usual tool-watch suspects.

For the straightforward expression of that idea, start with the Classic UC1, powered by the automatic NH35. The thinner U1S series uses the Swiss SW200-1 and is worth seeking out if the taller profile of the earlier watches bothers you. Limited editions and collaborations can change the dial and bezel treatment substantially, so the exact reference matters here. In particular, distinguish the stripped-back bezels from those with fuller timing scales: they may share the Modello Uno name, but they offer quite different experiences as dive watches.
