Modello Quattro

The Unimatic Modello Quattro takes the brand’s stripped-back dial language and frames it with a broad, fixed steel bezel. It’s a field watch with the physical presence of a diver: blunt, sturdy, and surprisingly expressive for something that leaves so much unsaid.

The bezel is the detail to spend time with. Without a rotating timing scale, that expanse of steel makes the dial look smaller and the whole watch feel more substantial than its 40mm diameter suggests. The plain black-dial Classic UC4 is a useful starting point if you want the design without a collaboration’s added graphics or colors. Its NH35 automatic movement is familiar and straightforward to maintain; although the dial has no date window, the movement retains a date-setting crown position. That extra position is normal, not a fault.
