A watermelon-colored chronograph is a fair introduction to Studio Underd0g: playful at first glance, carefully composed on the wrist. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2020 by designer Richard Benc, the brand brought a product designer’s eye to watchmaking. Its name’s substituted zero hints at the humor, but the dial layouts show how seriously it takes the details.

The 01Series established that vocabulary with hand-wound, twin-register chronographs powered by the Seagull ST1901. On the Watermel0n, pink and green meet seed-like hour markers; Mint Ch0c Chip takes its palette from the ice-cream counter. Asymmetric subdials and contrasting textures keep these watches interesting beyond the initial joke, while exhibition backs reveal the movement’s column-wheel mechanism.

The 02Series moved into field-watch territory, pairing a hand-wound Sellita SW210-1 with luminous dials and a quieter display. The 03Series returned to chronographs with the Sellita SW510 M, using a single pusher to start, stop, and reset. Both extend the design language without simply repeating the fruit bowl.
