The RZE UTD-8000 takes the broad bezel and exposed screws of a rugged digital watch and gives them a lighter setting: hardened titanium beneath a sapphire crystal. Its attraction is the hardware rather than a sprawling menu of functions—a straightforward digital watch built with the materials RZE uses for its mechanical tool watches.

The UTD-8000-BK brings black surrounds and small, colorful accents for the strongest old-school digital flavor. Display choice deserves more attention than color: positive and negative versions exist, so decide whether dark numerals or a dark background suit your reading preferences. The optional titanium H-link bracelet gives it a cohesive all-metal look, with toolless clasp adjustment; if you expect to resize one, pay particular attention to its shallow link-screw heads, which can make adjustment fiddly.
