Resolute

The RZE Resolute takes the field-watch formula in a distinctly modern direction: angular titanium, a restrained dial, and very little weight on the wrist. Its character comes from the contrast between that sharply drawn case and the straightforward business of telling the time.

The original Resolute uses Seiko’s NH35, a familiar automatic movement with a date display—worth seeking out if you prefer mechanical simplicity over a more elaborate dial. Titanium is central to the experience here: the watch looks substantial without feeling heavy, while RZE’s UltraHex surface treatment helps protect the case against the everyday marks that untreated titanium readily collects.

That hardening isn’t immunity to scratches. Pay particular attention to marks across the case’s crisp edges and broad, matte surfaces; refinishing a treated case is not the same proposition as brushing ordinary steel.
