The Rado Voyager belongs to the brand’s more traditional automatic-watch story, rather than the ceramic designs many collectors associate with its name. Vintage examples with a day-date display and Rado’s little moving anchor offer a particularly satisfying mix: useful calendar information, restrained dial furniture, and one quietly playful detail.

For a first Voyager, I’d favor a version whose dial gives the calendar room to breathe; the arrangement of the markers and windows matters more here than a long list of specifications. On examples fitted with the rotating anchor emblem, remember that it isn’t a running indicator. An anchor that no longer moves freely deserves attention, but it doesn’t, by itself, tell you whether the automatic movement is healthy.
