Mido’s Ocean Star is a family of dive watches, not a single design: straightforward day-date models share the name with compact retro pieces, GMTs, and more heavily engineered divers. Its roots reach back to 1959, but the useful distinction today is between the clean, contemporary tool-watch branch and versions that revisit the dial language of earlier decades.

The Ocean Star Captain IV and Ocean Star Captain V belong to the modern day-date lineage; the Ocean Star 200C adds a ceramic bezel insert and a wave-pattern dial. Many contemporary models use Mido’s Caliber 80, with an approximately 80-hour power reserve, though that specification should not be projected onto every generation. The Ocean Star Titanium takes a lighter-material approach, while the Ocean Star 39 brings the contemporary diver into a smaller case.

For a different mood, the Ocean Star Tribute pairs vintage-style detailing with a domed sapphire crystal. The Ocean Star Decompression Timer 1961 is distinguished by its multicolored decompression table. The Ocean Star GMT adds a second-time-zone hand, whereas the Ocean Star 600 moves toward deeper-diving hardware, including a helium escape valve.

$675 – $949 spread of reference medians

Each price is the median ask from one reference's own listings, and a reference needs at least five to get one. Listings that don't name a reference are left out, and nothing is blended into a family price.
