The CWC G10 is a British military watch with very little between you and the time: clear Arabic numerals, a strong minute track, and no date window to interrupt either. First issued to British forces in 1980, it brought quartz practicality to a job previously done by hand-wound watches.

Collectors often gravitate toward the early Fatboy, whose deeper case accommodated the bulkier quartz movement. Later, slimmer examples retain the same straightforward dial layout but sit closer to the wrist. A circled T identifies a tritium dial; later luminous versions are the more practical choice if nighttime readability matters more than period character.

The fixed strap bars are part of the military design, so straps must thread through rather than attach with conventional spring bars. On issued examples, the caseback’s military markings and issue year help establish what you’re buying; the battery hatch is another distinctive detail, worth checking for damage around its opening.
