The Corum Admiral’s Cup brings the yacht club onto the dial: nautical pennants mark the hours, framed by a twelve-sided case that gives the watch its unmistakable outline. In the 42mm size, that angular design has plenty of presence without needing the proportions of the collection’s larger models.
The name dates to 1960, but the familiar combination of polygonal case and signal flags arrived in 1983. For the clearest expression of that design, start with a three-hand version; a chronograph adds activity to an already lively dial. Colored pennants emphasize the sailing connection, while more restrained treatments let the case geometry do the talking. On an older example, pay particular attention to the bezel’s corners and transitions: polishing can soften the very lines that make this watch distinctive. Replacement straps also warrant care, since the fit at the case is part of the design, not an afterthought.
