Hello WatchEx, I'm selling my Omega Speedmaster Rattrapante Split Seconds, ref 3540.50, with a beautiful 3D Carbon Dial, in 42mm. This reference is a rare Speedmaster variant that integrates a rattrapante (split-seconds) chronograph on top of a robust automatic movement. Omega equipped it with caliber 3600, which is derived from the Valjoux/ETA 7750 architecture but substantially modified to include the split-seconds module. The split-seconds complication allows the chronograph to time two simultaneous intervals: when the chronograph is running, pressing the pusher (typically at 10 o’clock) splits the seconds hand into two; one hand “freezes” to mark an intermediate time, while the other continues. Pressing again reunites them. This is managed via a double-cam/lever mechanism, which Omega adopted (inspired by Habring’s refinements) as a more simplified alternative to more traditional double-column wheel systems.
