Reason for the sale is to fund other watch purchases. This Omega Speedmaster CK2998 (Ref. 311.33.40.30.02.001) was inspired by Omega’s original 1959 Speedy. It was a limited edition released in 2016, and 1 of only 2998 watches ever made in this specification. The deep blue subdials contrast beautifully with the creamy silver dials, earning this one a nickname of Blue Panda. Besides the dial color, there are quite a few unique features to this model compared to other Speedies. The lumed ceramic bezel contains a tachymeter starting with “1000,” while the lollipop chronograph seconds hand is a throwback to Omega’s pre-moon Speedmaster. The caseback includes the original Seahorse emblem, along with special engravings including "SPEEDMASTER", "CK 2998" and "LIMITED EDITION". The movement is Omega’s calibre 1861, a descendant of the movement that was worn on the moon. This piece has been beautifully preserved with evident pride of ownership, and is a great addition for those wanting to acquire a Speedmaster that is vintage inspired, modernly built, and unique.
