Ball, who established the specifications for railroad grade movements. The Ball Watch Company purchased movements from top pocket watch brands and further worked on the watches to perfect them.* This piece carries a lot of unique vintage American watchmaking history, born from a partnership between the Illinois Watch Company and The Ball Watch Company. Illinois built the foundation of the mechanism, and Ball refined it, resulting in the Commercial Standard grade movement. Produced in 1926, only 8,000 of these were ever manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio. The Ball dial features an elegant carved motif at the center with a beautifully textured perimeter. Both the numerals and subdial are cut directly from the dial, giving it an incredible visual profile. For something this special with this type of a dial, we wanted a conversion case that would age with character, so we chose bronze. The bronze we use is 93% copper, starting out with a rose-gold look that develops a rich patina over time. All of the work was done right here in Little Rock, Arkansas 🇺🇸.
