This Breitling houses an automatic chronograph movement that made history. The watch was one of the only three automatic chronographs that first appeared in 1969, developed by a joint force of Heuer-Léonidas, Hamilton-Büren, Dubois-Depraz, and Breitling. Featuring a stainless steel case in excellent vintage condition with a late 60s funky design with a left-hand crown position to serve as a gentleman race car driver’s chronograph and while also boasting a micro-rotor. The case measures 42.5mm with the crown and pushers, and 38mm without, with a lug to lug of 41mm and a height of 13.5mm. The left hand side of the case has 2 minor nicks. The dial is a gorgeous matte black and white (aka SURFBOARD) tritium dial in flawless condition without patina. The dial has a tachymeter scale built in. The hands are in pristine original condition with the orange neon crisp and bright. The Breitling Cal. 2111 functions as expected providing timekeeping under +/-5 seconds a day and a power reserve of about 35 hours and more. The date complication functions smoothly. The pushers are firm and strong, while providing seamless functionality. The crown is an original Breitling signed crown. The curved acrylic crystal has light scratches.
