The Jenny company made it's mark on deep sea diving with it's monocoque 1000m dive watch in the 1960's, and the Jenny Caribbean series is among the most highly desired and collectible of vintage dive watches. The Caribbean 1000 was the first 1000m dive watch, patented in 1964.

Jenny also produced and distributed its innovative 1000m monocoque case design for other manufacturers, including Haste, Philip, Fortis, Jaquet Droz, Ollech & Wajs, and others. Here's a rare vintage Haste "Caribbean 1000" diver's automatic in all original condition, with the unique monocoque case design. Here's the details: HASTE ("Caribbean 1000" SS Diver's Automatic) - Excellent 40mm signed solid stainless steel monocoque case with indexed bakelite enamel bidirectional rotating diver's bezel, signed ETA Swiss automatic movement with quickset calendar function running and keeping time (no service history known), aged original signed silver satin dial with raised silver and luminous markers, silver and luminous hands and palette-tipped sweep seconds, screwdown crown, generic stainless steel deploy ant clasp bracelet. The original luminous material (tritium) has faded. The unique Jenny patented monocoque stainless steel single piece case on this vintage dive watch is in excellent condition with minimal wear. The coin-edge stainless steel bidirectionally rotating diver's bezel is in excellent condition, as is the bakelite enamel bezel insert. The original acrylic crystal shows typical wear. The case is signed with the unique Jenny fish symbol. The caseback is also signed, "Full Steel, Swiss Made, Brev + 387551, Superwaterproof, 702, Automatic, Incabloc, Brev.Dem + 5292/68." The original silver satin dial shows aging and spotting, and is signed, "Haste, de Luxe, Automatic, 25 Jewels, Caribbean 1000, 1000 Meters (3300 Fts.), T Swiss Made T." The watch is mounted on a NOS Swiss made tropic long. This is a rare iconic deep sea dive watch, the first design ever certified for 1000 meters. The reference numbers on the caseback would appear to indicate a production date in 1968, just four years after this iconic case design was patented by Jenny. The markings also appear to indicate that this piece was a demo, making it among the earliest of 1000m dive watches.
