Hi Everyone,

I am selling a well loved Seiko SBDC003 aka Sumo aka Blumo. This watch was my daily beater from 2014 - 2018 and it shows.

There are plenty of scratches and small dings on the bracelet and case. The crystal has one fairly visible scratch at 2:30 but is otherwise pretty clean, minor scratches can be seen at the correct angle. The bezel has some nicks, scratches, and scrapes. The bezel is also very tight to rotate. It’s smooth but takes some force to get moving. The movement runs 30-60 slow per day so if you’re into accuracy it probably needs to be regulated. I never dove with it so I don’t think the slowness is caused by water damage.

Included are the watch, bracelet (sized for my 6.75” wrist), 2 extra links, and an extra super oyster clasp. Also comes with all boxes and instruction manuals.

This watch is being sold AS IS.

I am asking $150 shipped within the CONUS for the watch but am open to offers since I really don’t know what a fair price is for a watch in this condition.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house.
