Beautiful Seiko SBDC053 (SPB053) is a modern interpretation of the classic 62MAS dive watch. This is the blue dial version that has a somewhat chameleon effect. The play of light off the bezel and sunburst dial is always changing with the light and is absolutely stunning in daylight. And on the other extreme, the lume at night is world class even compared with other Seiko standouts like the venerable SKX. Movement is the upscale 6R15 automatic hacking and handwinding movement that keeps excellent time. The watch normally comes with a rubber strap (not included) but this one had the matching fitted Seiko bracelet. Gnomon sells the bracelet alone for over $200 so this is a huge upgrade.

42.6mm case without the crown
50mm lug to lug
13.8mm height
20mm lug width
50 hour power reserve

Case and bracelet are treated with Seiko’s DiaShield coating for extra scratch and corrosion protection. Case is satin brushed with Seiko high polishing, and gorgeous Zaratsu polished line on the side. The crystal is a domed sapphire with clear AR and gives a cool magnifying effect. Overall, watch this is a huge leap up from the SKX range and holds its own with watches costing twice as much.

The watch has only been lightly worn. It didn’t make it much in rotation as it’s quite nice but unfortunately I don’t have much occasion for such formality. So now it’s available to you for a great deal.
