For sale is a Seiko SAGM001, from their higher end Brightz line. I believe this was a JDM only model from the early 2000's, and has long been discontinued. Here's what I know about the watch: The entire case and bracelet/clasp are constructed of titanium, with a mixture of brushed and polished surfaces. The crystal is sapphire, and has an effective magnifier cyclops for the date window. The watch runs on the venerable 8F32 HAQ movement, spec'ed to 20 seconds per year, has a 10 year battery life, and features a perpetual calendar.

It's a rather handsome watch. The dial is inky black, with a subtle textured pattern in the center. The skeletonized hands and the hour markers are lumed. The fixed bezel has a raised polished top, and a nice coin edge. Finally, both the crown and the case back have the Brightz symbol deeply engraved, which reflect the higher end market the watch was intended for. The dimensions and specs of the watch are as follows:

  • Case width: 40mm (w/o crown or crown guard)
  • Bezel diameter: 38mm
  • Lug to lug length: 46.5mm
  • Lug spacing: 19mm
  • Thickness: 11mm
  • Crystal: sapphire
  • Movement: Seiko 8F32
  • WR rating: 100 meters

Overall the watch is in excellent condition for its age. The sapphire crystal is perfect. The watch head shows minor sign of wear, mostly on the polished surfaces (the bezel and the case sides). The bracelet has quite a bit of desk diving marks, which appear to be surface level, and could be cleaned up by someone who's patient. The bracelet should fit up to a 7.25" wrist. Please see pictures below as I tried to capture everything the eye can see.

The movement is running well, and the perpetual calendar is properly set. I don't know when the battery was last changed, but the watch has shown no signs of low battery power. Oh and one nice thing is that the second hand hits all the markers spot-on around the dial.
