For sale is an excellent condition 36mm 18 karat yellow gold and stainless steel Rolex Datejust. The 16233 is a late L serial, circa 1989, and is not accompanied by any box or papers. The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a fixed yellow gold fluted bezel. The Datejust is mounted on a period correct jubilee bracelet which features brushed steel outerlinks, polished gold center links, is fastened to the case by 455B endlinks, and is secured by a deployment clasp. The bracelet contains 19 full size links, will comfortably fit a 7.25 inch wrist, but does contain stretch that is consistent with the watch's age, would rate it 80% plus. The Rolex features a champagne dial with applied black enamel coated yellow gold double stick hour markers, polished tritium coated gold hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. Presentation wise, the dial presents beautifully, as the tritium lume dots have a acquired a champagne patina, which is elegantly contrasted by the black enamel coated gold hour markers. The 16233 uses the Rolex calibre 3135, which was COSC certified and features approximately 50 hours of power reserve. Overall the Datejust is in excellent condition, and contains no visible imperfections to the naked eye. The lugs and case, have been preserved well, appearing to have received minimal cosmetic refinishing over the watch’s life time.
