A very rare polerouter Tuxedo with BOX and (unsigned) PAPERS after a SERVICE, from around 1960 One of the most famous Gerald Genta Designs.

The watch is a very unique piece of history; which considering its age has preserved pretty good. It was made around 1960 by one of the finest watch manufactures; Universal Geneve, with a completely in house movement.

The Polerouter is one of the most iconic dress watch designs in the entire world of watchmaking. The watch was designed by a famous Designer Gelard Genta, who is the most known for his flagship designs such as Royal Oak for AP, Nautilius for Patek Philippe or Early Constellation PiePan’s for Omega.

Polerouter was introduced by Universal Geneve to commemorate a first historic commercial flight over the Polar route achieved by SAS in 1955. Since then, the watch became a true icon, and probably the most widely recognized piece from Universal Geneve.

The case of the watch is very slim and looks really stunning, It has that unmatchable elegance and a slim look.

Its (automatic) movement is powered by a microrotor and beats at 18,000BPH; it is finished up to the highest standards; it keeps the time to around 30s per day and the watch was fully serviced in December 2018 with 1 year watchmaker warranty from that date.

As it can be seen on the pictures, the case of the watch is scratched and has some visible imperfections. The dial is in a good condition besides the one scratch thats just above the word ”automatic”. The crystal has some minor scratches, but they are not extremely visible.
My rating of the condition is good, but please have a good look at the pictures.

Sometimes when the watch is worn, you can hear the microrotor ringing on the caseback from the inside; it still works fine however and winds the watch up.

Overall the watch is a great catch for a collector and would make for a great addition in any serious watch collection!

The watch comes with the universal geneve box and unsigned warranty papers and a receipt from the renowned Danish watchmaker.

Case size excl. crown: 34mm x 40 and around 9mm thick

The strap is a genuine very high quality leather strap by hirsch with a hirsch buckle; fits the watch prefectly.
