Acquired by me in 2012 from original owner. Selling due to my one out one in rule.
Lovely original condition bought from original owner with box, original purchase bill of sale and original guarantee.
Its not in Top-fine condition, but it is in very attractive, as everything is correct and original to the watch.
Bracelet is 1039 with 516 endlinks, and market 71/1
I have no records of service, although in my notes on the watch I did service the movement with no parts replacements. Here it is on the timeographer. As this would have been in 2012, being five years ago, it may need a service in the next few years. As of now it does not need it.
Unusually, the guarantee does not note the number. However the name on bill of sale, AND the Omega guarantee match the very light engraving on the clasp, "RCC"
The engraving on the clasp is very hard to see but it is there. In fact it is the perfect engraving, not deep enough to be noticed, but enough to prove provenance.
What is good about this watch?
It is original, from one owner, has not been prepared by a dealer, and is attractive overall as it looks right. Because it is, all the parts are original to the watch. It has papers, both bill of sale and Omega guarantee.
It is also, in my opinion, very good value compared to any other on the market today.
What is bad about this watch?
Nothing bad, but here are the issues. It was worn. The watch has clearly been used and has patinated. It is running well and when I showed it to Simon Freeese he said it didn't need a service right now. I know that it has not been opened since 2012 so if you go by the five year rule, it might need attention, but it was kept in a temperature and humility controlled environment.
It is not a watch for a Concours Collector. It is a lovely honest watch for someone who wants a fair priced speedmaster they can wear all the time.
Why am I selling?
I still have a couple of watches to sell to balance out the "one in one out" policy from last year. I sell this one as I am keeping a better one. Just because I have a better one doesn't mean this one is rejected, I really do have too many. I think I have a really good buyers eye, and just because I have to sell this watch doesn't mean I don't really like it - I do.
I am a private collector who rarely sells. When I do, most of the time my watches sell very quickly, and to the first person that PM's me with the words, "I will buy this watch now at your price"
I try my best to price my watches less than anything else I see listed to ensure a quick smooth easy sale.
In the past several people have been upset because although they are the first to reply, they ask if I can do a better price - meanwhile someone has agreed my price.
I am not in the slightest bit offended by offers, but remember that they will only make sense if the watch remains unsold after a few days.
I would really prefer a Face to Face with this watch in UK..
are OK if you are really nice about it, and don't cost me anything to get it back to me and the watch is in the same condition as it arrived with you. But please, if you are in two minds then do not buy. I am not a dealer and I am not on standby to accept a return. Getting a watch back to me will often involve you getting it safely back to Simon Freese in UK at your expense. So please, think hard about buying and be sure.
Payment- Price is £4000
Would prefer cash face to face for this watch.....otherwise:
Is by Bank Transfer to my HSBC account Hong Kong in £, $ or HKD against my invoice which will show all of our details all in one sheet. Please remember all charges to be borne by your side, and might be as much as £50 if your bank is as bad as some are.
Notes on my position and ethos
I am not motivated by profit and so I have no reason to embellish or over describe. I sell my watches to make room for more that I have bought. I have been on eBay since 2002 with 100% feedback. I have bought and sold a few watches on www.OmegaForums.net and you can find my feedback by searching my username. I am the author of Speedmaster101.com and protecting my reputation is more important to me than selling off a watch. I am not a watch dealer, I make my money elsewhere, watches are my pleasure.
