I am selling a nice, classic, circa 1978 5.4 million Rolex Submariner-Date ref. 1680. I bought this watch in 2009. I bought it from a well-known collector and friend who was once written up in Watch Times magazine. I can provide more details offline.

It comes with a "seen" paper from RSC Hong Kong where it got a glass/bezel/polish. See pics. I had it pressure tested locally a few years ago.

Watch has been polished but not to death. Bracelet is a decent 93150 with a clasp dated 1/76 with 580 end links. Only modest stretch.

Bracelet comes with 11 links. I've worn it mostly on a strap in rotation with a goodly number of other wrist and pocket watches. It has been babied. It's a very nice daily wearer and a great example of a classic reference.

I can provide more photos. Last few pics with leather Hodinkee strap were taken a few days ago.

This watch is in very nice vintage condition.

It's a wonderfully consistent timekeeper, losing only a few seconds a day.

Usual desk diving scratches that could easily be buffed out with a Scotchbrite pad, but I will leave that to the next owner. Maybe you like the tool watch look.

Asking $9,000.00 USD by bank wire transfer, and will ship with insurance for that price. Open to PayPal if you cover the 3 percent fees. I have been active on various watch forums, buying and selling for years and references are no problem and readily available.

CONUS sales only, please.

PM if interested.

Not interested in trades. Thanks for looking!
