Full Sales Listing
Offered for sale is my Rolex Datejust 36, reference 116234. This watch features a stunning Rhodium dial, with Roman numeral hour markers fashioned from 18 carat gold. It comes complete with its original Rolex box, booklet, swing tag and warranty card (often known as ‘papers’).

Originally purchased in 2014 from an authorised dealer, and then by myself from a pre-owned Rolex specialist in 2016, the watch benefits from both the original Rolex warranty (three years) as well as that from the specialist (two years). As such the provenance of the watch is rock solid, which was a huge relief to me as I am sure it will be to the future owner.

When sold to me the watch was described by the specialist as being in “excellent” condition. It has been kept in very much the same order whilst being enjoyed in rotation on a weekly basis. The case remains unpolished, with marks commensurate to casual wear. As such, this Datejust really does look new on the wrist.

With a retail price of £5900, the pricing of this watch at £4750 represents excellent value and beats every other quote that I could find for a model in the same condition complete with box and papers.

Often thought of as the perfect watch for daily wear, the six-digit reference is comfortably worn in practically any setting. The Datejust's design is both handsomely elegant and extremely useful, as it is perfect for use in the office, while swimming in a lake/pool and everywhere in between.

The bezel is fluted, and as such is made of white gold. Paired with the current five-link Jubilee bracelet – sometimes referred to as a ‘Super Jubilee’, due to its brilliantly engineered concealed clasp – the look of the watch is quintessentially Rolex.

One of the more subtle but important details that distinguishes the current six-digit reference Datejusts from their older five-digit siblings is the design of the case. By updating the design of certain areas such as the case lugs, Rolex have successfully modernised the Datejust for today’s wearer whilst respecting the classic 36mm format. The end result is a watch that wears slightly larger than the older five-digit models, and retains the timeless look that the Datejust is renowned for.

The movement is the current Rolex 3135, a certified chronometer that runs between -2 and +2 seconds per day after casing. From the inclusion of the blue Parachrom hairspring, to the 48 hours of power reserve make this timepiece a robust and reliable choice for years to come.
