[WTS] Antique Solid Sterling Case WW2 Military Seeland Manual Wind Watch Lumed (Military Provenance)
[WTS] Antique Solid Sterling Case WW2 Military Seeland Manual Wind Watch Lumed (Military Provenance)
For sale today is a watch with some amazing history in both owner as well as brand. Seeland Watch Co. was founded in 1873 later being contended as Invicta in the 20s. As for the watch itself it was purchased from the original owners family. Owner was a Private First Class in the Pacific Campaign during WW2. While serving he earned a Purple Heart. Like I said watch was purchased from a family member but they believe he picked up the watch during downtime while overseas though I’m not sure if it was form the PX or not. Either way watch was worn by a true hero and you can tell he loved it so much so that he got his name engraved in the back. Watch is running well for the time but I do not know the service history. I do think it was one as the second had has been repainted and one of the hands looks to be relumed. Case is heavy and is solid Sterling silver.
