Hi everyone, Letting go of a very clean late-60s Seamaster ref. 166.010, powered by the workhorse cal. 565 and paired with its original Omega BOR bracelet ref. 1036 with 511 endlinks. It has that classic, versatile silver sunburst dial and slim, dressy case profile that the 166.010 is known for easy wrist time with anything from a T-shirt to a shirt and jacket. It was recently serviced by my watchmaker and is running well. Full transparency: the movement showed quite a bit of rust before service (see macro shots). My watchmaker disassembled, cleaned and stabilized it; some cosmetic staining remains on the plates, but functionally it’s in good shape now and running reliably on the wrist. The watch is priced with the prior rust and remaining cosmetic staining in mind. If you’ve been looking for a straightforward, all-original vintage Seamaster with date and quickset, this is a solid candidate. **Condition** **Dial:** Original silver sunburst dial in good condition. Under normal viewing it presents clean and even; under close inspection and macro you will see scattered aging spots/pimples in the lacquer. Original printed text is sharp, applied logo and indices are crisp with no repaint or touch-up. **Case:** Stainless steel case, approx. 35 mm (excl. crown) with 18 mm lugs. To my eye it’s unpolished , original bevels and case lines are still well defined. Typical hairline scratches and small marks from honest wear, no deep gouges. **Crystal:** Omega-signed Plexiglas. It has been polished and is generally clear, but expect light marks consistent with age. **Crown:** Omega-signed crown, winds and sets smoothly. Quickset date via the typical cal. 565 “pull-and-release” action works as it should. **Movement:** Omega cal. 565 automatic, 24 jewels, serial in the 26.4M range dating the watch to around 1968. Recently serviced by my watchmaker. As noted above, the movement had quite a bit of rust pre-service; he fully disassembled, cleaned and did his best to remove corrosion and stabilize everything. Some cosmetic staining remains on the plates (visible in the macro photos), but it is now running reliably after service. **Bracelet:** Original Omega beads-of-rice bracelet ref. 1036 with 511 endlinks. The bracelet shows normal stretch for its age but still wears comfortably.
