Offering for sale a vintage 1970’s Rolex DateJust 1603 with blue pie pan type dial. I’ve had a 16030 blue dial datejust before but this blue is nicer, less saturated and more of a pastel blue. Comes with its original coffin style Rolex box and service cards showing it was fully serviced by Rolex in 2011 and 2017.

Only selling as I’ve bought two 1603’s recently (this and the matte black dial which is also have listed for sale) and I can’t decide which to keep. So, whichever sells first, I’ll keep the other.

Dial
The factory original blue dial is in very good condition with no flaking of the paint around the hour markers as is often seen with these vintage blue dials. The lume plots have aged to a lovely yellow colour. I’m unsure if the hands are service or original. The lume in the hands is lighter than the dial but they don’t appear to glow like super luminova.

Case
The 36mm 1603 stainless steel case with engine turned bezel is in good condition, nice and thick with no damage or corrosion and has been previously polished by Rolex.

Movement
The movement is in good condition, fully functional and keeping excellent time. Last service was by Rolex in 2017.

Bracelet
The bracelet is a genuine Rolex jubilee, ref 62510H dated 1985. It does have some stretch as is common for a vintage bracelet, but perfectly wearable.

Extras
Comes with its original green ‘coffin’ box, card holder and two Rolex service cards from 2011 and 2017.
