For sale is this vintage Seiko "Emblem" 4120-9000, made in Japan in July of 1976. The "Emblem" series was a mid-range series just a smidge below the expensive big hitter quartz models, which were top-of-the-range in the Seiko lineup during the 70s and may have roots in Seiko's Emblem-branded clock series (perhaps the designs were made to look more like clocks?).  Manufactured in Seiko's Suwa factory (shown by the Suwa swirl logo on the dial) during its famous rivalry with the Daini Factory. This example, reference number MNC010, has a beautiful satin mirror-like silver linen dial, which ranges from a white to a suit-grey depending on the light, with contrasting high polish stick baton markers with a black centre and unique thin black hands. The Seiko logo, Emblem logo, single crystal quartz symbol and print at the bottom of the dial are in black.  The lugless "disco volanté" design of the case takes tips from heavy-hitters like the Universal Genevé Shadow and Patek Philippe Ellipse (both designed by Gerald Genta) while making the case more modern and space-age with its chamfered sides, creating a slim look on the wrist.  The calibre 4120 movement was one of the smallest quartz movements on the market at the time and had an accuracy of 15 seconds per month (as a comparison the more modern Casio F-91W has/had an accuracy of 30 seconds per month). In good condition for its age being over 50 years old. General wear expected. Crystal has some light scratches that are visible in some lighting conditions, made visible in the pictures.
