Greetings! Up for sale is a fantastic vintage piece from the 40’s and 50’s. A vintage Hamilton Boulton. This is NOT the reissued Boulton that’s come out in the past couple of years along with an appearance in some Indiana jones movie, this is the watch that a real life Indiana Jones ACTUALLY would have worn. This is a 14k Gold Filled case with a USA in-house movement the 982 by Hamilton, which dates all the way back to the 40’s. Generally the 982 is a well-respected movement that’s considered to be a fantastic handwinder, especially given its history as an in-house US made movement from a better part of a century ago. Some watchmakers even say that the use of real mined gems in the 19 jewel movement, buts this handwind movement ahead of the Swiss watches of this era in terms of serviceability. Plus, the inside of the case back proudly states that this watch was made in Lancaster PA, and that’s just cool. This particular watch is in great shape. The crystal isn’t too old, I would assume, as there are very few scratches on the acrylic, and the few that are there could likely be polished out, though there is one at the 6-oclock position that I can feel with my fingernail. The case is beautiful, with the golf filling holding up well, but you can see some scratches and marks here or there. The dial is also in fantastic shape, with applied 18k gold numerals placed on the dial, still looking great! The strap is aftermarket, and new, with matching gold hardware This is a vintage sized watch, with a case measuring 23mm wide, and 39mm lug to lug. If you’re unsure of the sizing, it’s similar to a current gen small sized cartier tank. This watch could likely use a servicing. While I don’t have a time grapher, and the small seconds is pretty hard to read accurately, I think it’s safe to say that it’s running pretty fast, close to a minute fast a day. But the good news is that the hand wind movement in this should be fairly simple to service. All things considered, I love this watch, and I’ve worn it a few times, but I just don’t wear it enough to make it worth keeping. I’m looking to get **$180** for this watch, which I think is a great deal on a historically significant watch, especially for US watchmaking. I'll take paypal ff, zelle, or Bitcoin album and timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/8CLDQOb
