# Reference: **Model: S**ARC001 / 6R20-00B0 **Year Produced:** September 2006 **Timestamp:** [https://imgur.com/a/7K7nEUK](https://imgur.com/a/7K7nEUK) **Album:** [https://imgur.com/a/Ev1U9CK](https://imgur.com/a/Ev1U9CK) # Features: **-** ***The Dial*****.** Launched in 2006, the SARC collection has already produced several classics, and the SARC001 is no exception. Its dial, with its concentric ripples, is often mistaken for guilloché, but it’s actually created through "electrophoretic deposition". Seiko experimented with this electroforming technique, involving the hand-shaping of a textured, metal, base layer from which you shape the main dial. Anodes, cathodes and electrical fields are involved. It feels like we're back in School, so let's skip to the next section. ***- The Face Shape.*** Since its launch in 2006, Seiko has done hundreds of different designs focused on the 6R2X movement, with its faux-chronograph appearance. In that respect, the SARC001 was “the face that launched a hundred watches”, and I love its classic simplicity. **-** ***The S.*** It’s only a small point to note, but it’s interesting nonetheless. The S on the crown is the original 1950s Seiko “S” as seen in designs like the [Super Seiko](https://imgur.com/a/y2K3Rax). I’ve read through the 2006 release literature for the SARC001 and all Seiko confirms is the crown intentionally features the Super Seiko “S”, but it doesn’t confirm why. Until I can dig up more info, it’s just a fun retro throwback! **-** ***The Movement.*** **T**he SARC001 is powered by a 28,800bph “Hi-Beat” 6R20 calibre. The six-handed movement, offers circular day, date and power serve indication on its fourth, fifth and sixth hands. It’s one of my favourite affordable complications. ***- The Bracelet.*** Comes on the original tombstone style bracelet and will fit up to an 8-inch wrist. # Details: **The Condition**: In great condition - no immediately noticeable marks anywhere. The only tiny hairlines can be found on the side of the case, and there are some hard-to-see bump marks on the bezel **Scope:** No box or papers  **Movement**: 6R20 Automatic Movement, 28,800 bph, 45 power reserve, 29 jewels **Dimensions:** \- Case Width: 39.0mm \- Case Thickness: 11.5mm \- Lug to Lug: 46mm **Price:** Priced at **$710**.
