Haven't spent a ton of time with this one but in order to acquire my Vacheron I have to sell some pieces, and with my Tudor BB Panda Chrono not getting any nibbles I decided to default that as the panda in my collection and potentially let go of this beauty (PM me if interested in the Tudor though). First to describe what we have here: 20 years ago an extremely limited number (~300 pieces I believe) of these were sold out of Japan's oldest department store - Mitsukoshi, hence the name. Understandably a holy grail for collectors, those without $25k+ to acquire one of the originals are in luck because Omega released an extremely small number of OEM dial and hand sets (the hands are needed as the original white set can wash out against the white dial) that are original and genuine Omega parts out of their factory. What some people have done (and has been done here) is to take those dial and hand sets and add them to a more modern Speedmaster to have the look and feel of the OG Mitsukoshi dial but at a much more reasonable price, cheaper even than the new white lacquer Moonwatches that still aren't readily available at that retail price. The problem is finding one of those dial sets is very difficult, and when found, very expensive. In fact one is for sale on these forums for just the dial/handset at over $3k which is actually fair market price. That's the DIY option, but those without a "donor" Moonwatch will have to source their own and that's when the cost can spiral, not to mention the nerve of doing the work at the price point yourself. To get it all in one package ready to go - This Sapphire sandwich with the 1863 movement will come with the Mitsukoshi dial and handset already installed (no original black dial, but I do have a separate Black Dial 3861 speedie available). Of the watches I have for sale this is perhaps the watch I like the most so not dying to let it go but I do have to at least list it. Price is **$6500** net to me + shipping.
