Hi everyone! I have here on offer today a rather rare and classic 1960s Ulysse Nardin on its original steel bracelet. It from my own collection of vintage pieces, and I’d like to find this beauty another owner that will spend more time with it. It comes watch-only, in a very good condition considering its age - there are only the usual light hairline marks to note overall. The curves of the 36mm stainless steel case reminds a lot of Rolex’s oyster case design, and is just super timeless. The bracelet construction is amazing; lightweight and soft to the skin, while still feeling extremely luxe. My favourite thing is the stamped U.N. logo on the clasp. Timekeeping runs well and is pretty accurate, with more than a full day of power reserve. Original boxy crystal with date magnifier. It is a really rare piece from what I know, and Hodinkee ever sold one (priced at US$2,900). It’s probably the only exact example online. Founding his company in 1846, Ulysse Nardin first trained in horology under his father, Leonard-Frederic Nardin, and perfected his skills under the tutelage of Frederic William Dubois and Louis JeanRichard-dit-Bressel, two master watchmakers whose fame extended beyond the mountains of Neuchatel, Switzerland.

Ulysse Nardin's marine chronometers have seen service with the navies of some 50 countries during the mid-1800s.

In 1983, the company was acquired by businessman Rolf Schnyder who, in conjunction with watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin, relaunched the brand. Schnyder and Oechslin would aim to produce complication timepieces using modern materials and manufacturing techniques.

In 2014, Ulysse Nardin was acquired by the Kering Group, formerly known as PPR.
