[WTS] Very rare! Vintage LIP double retrograde sector automatic watch early 70s
The Lip Secteur is a rare and very collectible French retrograde jump hour. It features the same flyback module as the Wittnauer Futurama but the base calibre is completely different (Lip R573) by utilizing a 21.800 beat West-German "Duromat" INT7525 automatic by Durowe (Deutsche UhrenRohWerke). You may never see another of these, at this condition! You may have notice some resemblance in today's collection like that of Urwerk King Cobra https://www.watchguru.com/WatchGuru/Watch-Details/Urwerk/King-Cobra/13805 or even Cobra made by Patek Philippe in the 1950s https://coolhunting.com/style/patek-philippe/ with its 'Fuel-Gauge' style display. The Lip Secteur doublle retrograde Jump hour was available in three case shapes, round (ref. 43651 rectangular (ref. 43647) and square (ref. 436491) though none of these watches was round, rectangular or square exactly either, each case having its own degree of asymmetry, its own assemblage of surface curves and angles. Each of these models was powered by a Wester German-made Duromat INT7525 automatic movement made by the ETA -owned Durowe. This included a custom-built module - later also used in the Wittnauer Futurama, a watch distinctly similar to the rectangular Lip Secteur - that allowed the hands to be off-centre and 'fly back' at the end of their run rather than rotate in circles (as with a standard analogue display). Year of release 1972 Come with the dark brown strap as in photos just taken, last service unknown. The watch is running fine, but for everyday wear a service might be recommended US$1600 shipped Worldwide. Direct bank transfer preferred or Wise.
