Exquisite original Wittnauer chronograph. Cream dial (pre-Geneve) with intact lume plots. Original dauphine steel hands; if polished, not overly so. Chronograph displays seconds at 9:00 position, minute register at 3:00. Round chronograph push buttons and a push/pull winding crown are all functioning perfectly. All stainless steel case with screw-down back—35mm excluding winding crown, sharp bevels and original finishes throughout lugs, stepped angled bezel is polished/brushed. This Wittnauer, ref 3256, is manual winding Venus cal.188 movement. The reliable 188, used by the likes of Breitling & other high-end manufacturers, became the respected Valjoux 7730, which preceded the 7733, 7734 etc; movement in good working condition & extremely accurate despite being 60+ years old: timed within 10 sec/day with good power reserve. 17 jewel movement containing a shock absorber device and a straight-line lever escapement.
