Unlike cheaper skeletonized designs made with quick CNC laser cutting, the production of the skeletonized dial on this Sea-Gull 8847K is more involved. With this model, the cut-outs on the dial are beveled and hand carved to resemble creeping vines. The exhibition case back shows the decorated movement's skeletonized base plate, which is also decorated hand-engraved vines. At 6 o'clock is the ST8006's eccentric tourbillon, which not only (theoretically) provides an overall benefit to accuracy but also serves as a seconds indicator. The 12mm thickness and 39mm case diameter makes this a good choice to wear with suit jackets and dress shirts.
